Character Meet and Greets are Back
Updated: Apr 25, 2022
Are you ready for some great news? Well, just this week Disney has announced that you’ll get to meet characters in person without any social distancing restrictions. This allows students to have a more personable experience with the characters that they’re meeting.
Before COVID
Back in 2019, there were characters everywhere and they were there to spread the magic. We can also see that there were a ton of different types of characters that then helped spread even more magic. One thing that Disney prides itself on is that you don’t see characters where they don’t belong. You would never see Winnie the Pooh in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom because that’s not where he would belong or live.

During COVID
When COVID hit they had to completely change the way they did character meet and greets. Here they added six feet apart to their meet and greets and they also made sure that there were only a couple of families in line at the same time. They also had to make it so that you couldn’t touch the characters and they had to be behind a rope.

Now
We’re hoping to see the same setup as we did before COVID. We would want to see characters being able to interact with guests and see them be able to make those memories with students that’ll last a lifetime. One thing that we do know is that there won’t be any social distancing and that you won’t have to stand behind a rope.

In the end, we’re all happy that we can see characters and interact with them. Even if it’s not the same as what it was before COVID it will still be nice for its changes from the COVID guidelines.
